Rabbi David Kominsky works with individuals, congregations and organizations to help create spiritually vibrant lives.
He is the founding rabbi of Kehillah Hadashah: A New Community Shul located in SE Portland. As a longtime resident of the neighborhood, he is delighted to be working with a congregation of like-minded neighbors building a new community to do “Jewish” in a Southeast Portland way.
Families who are not affiliated with synagogues, or who are planning an event distant from their own synagogue find Rabbi David a friendly and spiritually uplifting presence. Accepting of people and their situation, David works closely with couples to plan meaningful weddings and baby namings.
Rabbi David is also available for individual study opportunities, either online or in person in Portland, Oregon.
David has worked extensively with congregations, both as a visiting scholar or organizational consultant, or as a pulpit rabbi. He is a graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia, PA, and Reed College in Portland, OR.
